Canoeing on the Buffalo River

My brother and I canoed the Baffalo River this weekend. We rented our canoe from the Buffalo Outdoor Center in Ponca, AR. Really friendly people and pretty reasonably priced. For our canoe and shuttle service (they drive your car to the end point) we paid about 80 dollars total. We did the Kyles Landing trip, which is the most scenic trip to take on the Buffalo. It is a perfect, 1 day, unhurried float, and is loaded with attractions and places to explore!

My brother: He had to wear the lay haha

We decided to park our canoe and hike for a bit and we could not have picked a more amazing spot to hike...we found WATERFALLS!

There is a famous waterfall along the trip that you can hike to but the bank was too crowded and we were going to fast with the current to stop so we didn't get to see this amazing waterfall. Its called Hemmed-In Hollow. At 220 feet, they are the tallest waterfalls between the Appalachians and Rockies.

 Here's what it looks like

We are definately going back here this summer and hiking to this waterfall! I hated to miss it this time.

This trip was so much fun. The beauty of the Buffalo River is breathtaking to say the least. It really couldn't get much better than that!
