Creating His Own Mini Pond in a Container

The above picture is L's own "pond" he created the other day. We were at the lake and I always bring various cups and containers, and he started bringing water, muck, wood, and rocks to his plastic container to create his own "pond" as he was calling it.
I loved the idea and loved it even more that it was thought up all on his own!

  2. Thats a great idea. We had a metal bath tub pond with fish but I got rid of it soon after Goblin was born because I wanted him to be able to play in the garden without supervision. Are you keeping the 'pond' or was it an activity that you will just repeat a lot?

  3. Love it! I remember making ponds in our own garden when I was little too. Wasn't as lucky to have a large pond to explore as your little guy. Thank you for sharing this wonderful post with the Weekly Kid's Co-op. I'm Pauline and I blog over at http://lessonslearntjournal.com. I will feature this post as part of my roundup of this week's linky party and also pin a picture from your post onto our very popular Weekly Kids' Co-op interest board :).

  4. I use to do this all the time as a kid! We went on camping canoe trips and the pond would live in a container much like the one your son used in between my legs on the bottom of the canoe for days. I would catch critters, fish, crayfish and all kinds of stuff to put in it. Such great memories! Thanks for reminding me of this great idea. And SO fun that your son thought it up all on his own.
