Salad Spinner Art

I bought 3 salad spinners at Goodwill for 3 dollars each. I've been wanting to do Salad Spinner Art with The Children's Art Group, but I kept looking at those salad spinners and just had to try it out with L first! This was totally fun! One of the best parts about it is that besides cleaning the salad spinner, it's a pretty MESS FREE paint project and we RARELY run into those!

I cut a bunch of (kind of wonky) circles from thicker cardstock paper.
You can also just lay a piece of paper into the spinner and fold up the sides a bit

I let L squirt the paint into the spinner, adding whatever and however many colors he wanted.

Then put the top on and SPIN
Ours has a pulley spinner so he got quite a workout!

We did MANY more, and even added glitter to some

  3. I just did this with my 3 kids, and it was so much fun!!! I was hesitant because I didn't want to ruin my pricey, beloved salad spinner- but it was just fine. Thanks for the idea! :)

  4. This is so much fun and the most important is the bonding with your children. I miss this moment because my kids are all grown up.

  5. This is so much fun... playing while learning and the best past is when you see your kids that so much joy on their faces. Thanks for sharing this post and hope to read more from you.

  6. I tried this before but ours didn't look as great as yours. I think the lesson is use lots of paint! Yours look fantastic! We just used small, cheap paper plates because that way I didn't have to cut all of those circles (for a class) but maybe the paint doesn't slide as well as on paper? I'll have to try it out. Thanks!
